...but, but, but how do you really feel about him.

If you don't want a man unhappy politically, don't give him two sides to a question to worry him; give him one. Better yet, give him none. Let him forget there is such a thing as war. He may be corrupt, racist, and sexist, but treasonous is just a narrative of the fake news.

What do you mean? Faux News hasn't called him treasonous, to my knowledge.

But, technically, he's traitorous, not treasonous.

traitor:

a person who betrays a friend, country, principle, etc..

treason:

the crime of betraying one's country, especially by attempting to kill the sovereign or overthrow the government.

Frankly, neither definition fits exactly. I tend to believe he is simply an uneducated, unsophisticated opportunistic buffoon who is capable of doing great damage to our economy, our racial sensitivity, our basic freedom of speech and FROM religion with his ill conceived SCOTUS nominations.

I truly hope he dies tomorrow. Mike Pence, while very much to the right of Trump does not have the same voice and he will make an ineffective POTUS and would not last a general election try.

If you're going by dictionary definitions, you are right. But if you're going by US Criminal Code definitions, then treason has a very specific meaning, and, as I understand it (IANAL!) only applies during a declared war. Russian hacking and influence buying, while potentially acts of war, are not the same as a declaration of war, which requires an act of Congress.*

No argument there.

Pence is a snake in the grass, and could do great harm in other ways, including with judicial nominations. I'd rather see Trump, Pence, and the whole stinking lot of them indicted, tried, convicted, and locked away for a long, long time.

* as an aside, the last declaration of war was in WWII. Since then, the executive branch has participated in "police actions" and other fig leaves, as Congress as essentially abdicated that responsiblity.

In a strange twist, neither Trump or Pence will be impeached before the November elections and they will not be impeached at all if the GOP retains the House.

If the Dems get the House, they may (although I hope not) impeach Trump. He would then be tried in the Senate and the likelihood of getting 67 Senators to vote guilty is very slim. But, if a conviction did happen, Trump will be allowed, that day, to clear out the White House of his personal items and HE IS GONE - FOREVER.

Pence would immediately become President. It would take a majority of both the House and the Senate to approve any subsequent nominations to fill the Vice President's role (there is no provision for an interim vote). I think we can be assured that a Dem controlled House and/or Senate will not approve another GOP nominee for the Vice Presidency.

If Pence is subsequently impeached (again, I hope not) and convicted then the Constitution states that the Speaker of the House or the Senate Pro Tem shall assume the role upon the conviction of the sitting President, sans a co-terminus Vice President.

We would then have, by default a Dem POTUS. (YAY! Maybe!)
____________________________________________
I would prefer that Trump and Pence become incapacitated by an adverse Congress (Dem House AND Senate) than be impeached. Impeachment would create a societal crisis in the Country, much more than the Clinton Impeachment and Senate trial. Without an impeachment and without support of the Congress, Trump would then be forced to piss into the wind and knowing Trump, he would ultimately be pissing on himself.

Most pundits believe the House will shift to a Dem control. What, to my mind, is more important is to get a 51 Dem Senate majority invalidating any attempt by Trump to further upset the judicial balance back the conservative/evangelical/alt-right.
_____________________________________________

I have said this before, if the Dems get both the House and the Senate, Trump will revert to a Dem biased POTUS effectively screwing his base.

Such is the nature of Donald J. Trump. clown 🐍

I've given up on any hope of him magically disappearing.

Pence is likely a smarter grade of totally unacceptable swine. He's just as much harm, just not prone to insane twitter comments (well I haven't seen any insane comments mostly).

I think Trump is mostly life teaching the US a lesson, a brutal lesson, a lesson they better learn, and learn well for the next election. In some ways the US deserves Trump. Yes, I said deserves him.

And yes, I say that as a Canadian, that's in Ontario, and dealing with Doug Ford as premier. How he got elected escapes me. I guess it is just an equally brutal lesson my fellow Ontarians better be learning as well. Because he's sure been hard at work emulating Trump in his own way.

Oh Gawd, Trump is visiting Ireland in November to "renew the deep and historic ties between our two nations".
Yes we do love America here but Trump?
No. I love America and many of my family do as well. Several presidents have visited us. I never felt the need to protest.
I saw Kennedy's helicopter. Missed Nixon, managed to infiltrate Reagan's security and got within grenade distance. Got very close to Clinton. Not dress staining distance but close.
But Trump. I'd join the protests if only it wasn't going to be dominated by the trendy left wing crazies.
So I'll stay at home as long as he doesn't knock on my door.

Yeah I watched that video a long time ago, it seems pretty sane and rational.

My views on disliking Trump are sane and rational.

I don't give a crap about his twitter, or whether or not he obeys the rules, or modern political correctness thought policing nonsense.

The main reason I don't like him, is the Trump administration taxed bitcoin and made it crash. I don't think Trump cares about paupers or peasants. He is a rich elitist. He is a Zionist. He is not an outsider, but an insider. Trump will not save this world. Trump reduced financial incentives for solar power redirected them back to coal. And Trump will not even stand up for our 2nd amendment rights and is against 3d printed guns. Trump is all about the police state.

This is true. But he seems to have Jedi mind trick lots of Americans.

He tells them what they want to hear, but does he do any of it. Has he brought any jobs back to America? Has he even started building that wall?

Americans seem happy with words, but I don't see any actions....

Hi Lucy!!!

I agree. we are on the outside looking in and I don't see a lot of stuff like that going on. But, he seems to be placing lots of tariffs upon certain nations, whether that is good I don't know. I just hope he keeps his word for Britain and he's gonna be true to his word and offer the UK good deals come March when the UK finally leaves the EU, especially if the UK aligns with Norway. I think Britain should break now, coz re-entering would be too constricting, the EU will be pullin' the UK around by the nipples if it remained now. Understand, I voted remain, but that was way back when it'd been cool to simply carry on.... it sure 'aint now They are obstructive, pulling every trick out of the box to make our lives hard as possible. Now I hate the EU, I made a mistake, I should have voted leave....

Well, back to DT. Donald Trump is, after all a business man. He is not a good politician and I don't think he'll be re-elected coz of his inaction doing stuff that he promised to. Let's face it, would be quite horrid if he did, maybe he knows that now. I am no fan, I think he is quite an inept president. I liked GW and I liked his father and Reagan too. Obama was quite nice, but I'd like to see a real good president take power and I don't think there has been anyone that fits that bill since WWII. Celia xx

Not every Norte Americano is happy with his words.

In fact most (as in more than half) think he is a joke.

We won't get a good trade deal from America. Not unless we accept a all sorts of crazy shit. Dropping food standards, so we accept chlorine chicken, and hormonal beef.

Give America a chance to buy into some of our more socialist industry, like the NHS or the BBC....

If you foreign nationals are willing to be second class human beings and World citizens and put "America First", then you'll get a long just fine with DT and his followers.
