Have you ever heard of Quakers?

Post  Lesley Niyori on Mon May 21, 2018 7:00 pm

I am not saying I am a Quaker.
I guess I'm saying they might like me.
It appears I might like them.

I suggest anyone here have the bravery to consider reading their site's materials.

You don't need to be Christian or even religious. You can be likely more pagan than not as I am thinking I am.
They flat out accept transgender people.

I've known the word Quaker for decades, and yet, I really never knew then until today.

More atheistic pagan these days, but still watch wheel of the year go by. Found it a good outlet for the mixed feelings and with the dual gender of it all fitted well. Shame about the transphobic members (long story for some other time), otherwise it would have a good time to open up. Lot of egos around but find some very honest and loving people.
Pop along to your local moot (socal meeting). generaly most people develop there own personal connection with who they want. Have a good bullshit filter, (pseudo science mainly, and weird shit) and love bombing.
Generaly very open minded people,

It may well be that they are like any other group of humans too.

The Canadian Anglican church is officially LGBT friendly, but when they last voted (a once every 3 years event, they gather to vote on things), it wasn't unanimous of course.

The church I have attended since 67 is good to me, buuuut there are still some that have trouble accepting/understanding me. The thing is, that's ordinary. I don't hold it against them.
The important thing is their official position is LGBT friendly.

The key detail though, is I have as I mentioned elsewhere, officially discarded a lot of my own prior beliefs.

It's the only way to transition successfully. You gotta show that sucker who's boss.

I have always been a bit suspect of the Quakers once I found out that Nixon (yeah, that one) was once a Quaker (his parents were Quaker). Wink
The call each other Friends, and that is probably enough for me.

A better choice might be the Unitarians. They accept everyone, whether you believe or not.
