Updated health insurance policy

My policy covers surgery now. It wasn't covered a couple years ago when I checked.

I don't want to turn this into a political statement but your health insurer is going against the grain of the Trump administration in its effort to stop everything LGB...T, and especially trans.
If you are considering surgery, get it done as soon as possible.

Well congratulations on that new opportunity!
As I have detailed with my own experience it is a potentially very life altering thing that hits in ways that one can't always predict. But I am so happy I did it even if dilation is a pain, having to pee in the woods or finding a way to pee in a cup is a much harder or having to have gyno exams if you are "active". But there is a lot of good too. I wish you luck in your own journey!

That's good, another obstacle out of the way.
It got me thinking and I checked if my insurer covered reassignment surgery and all the rest of the costs. Indeed they do but only in recent years. Same with the other insurers here in Ireland. The health service also pays for surgery but I imagine the waiting time is considerably longer.
So in the unlikely event I ever have a chance of fulfilling my dream. Then I am covered.
