Chinese Cock-A-Leekie!!!!
Hi Eveeryone!!!!
So I have to give you my recipe for my Chinese Cock-A-Leekie!
Why Chinese? Well, I made this some years ago for a friend and I made it for liccle me today and it is actually frickin' nice! (Oh, she said it tasted Chinese, that was before I added the sprouts.....)
Ingredients: Well the obvious first..... Chicken, leeks and potatoes.
Yes, put the Chicken fillets in the oven first, boil peeled potatoes whole and the cut leeks until soft and after shredding the Chicken and carefully breaking the potatoes, place all in a Pyrex type bowl. Add 1/2 pint Chicken stock, (I prefer the gel), and 1/4 pint beef stock....
Now the magic! Add one whole tablespoon of English mustard. Yes a whole heaped tablespoon! It must be English mustard! Mix it in! Place it in the oven on 350f/180c for 1/2 hour in a covered dish.
Meanwhile, fry two handfuls of beansprouts, if you don't have a wok use a frying pan and do a bit at a time. Add to the dish from the oven with pepper and a dash of turmeric for colour. Leave in the oven for a further fiftenn minutes and then add salt and pepper at the table to taste. Absolutely delicious!
