here we go again.....
I thought I ought check in. Things have been looking up and getting back to normal at home. We even got cleared to have pets again and got our delightfully troublesome kittens.
But, my wife found a lump in her armpit near where they removed the cancerous lymph nodes. She has an ultrasound on the 20th and, depending on its results, a biopsy shortly after.
I don't know that I have the strength to watch her get more chemo, radiation, and surgery. But, I also don't see that I have a choice.
Maybe we'll get lucky. Maybe it's a cyst. Maybe it's not the vile fucking demon that has possessed our lives for the last 15 months. Maybe I'm worried about nothing.
Maybe.
Being a full-time caregiver has pushed my schizophrenia to the brink. Dozens of times. Oh, to have a caretaker for me, you know? Someone to come do dishes and make dinner a couple of nights a week.
Anyway, enough whining.

Welcome back Kaibeth, nice to have yet another person aboard this forum.
Not so good is your news. Hopefully its just a cyst. It's a terrible worry for anyone.

Finally, some good news.
It's scar tissue from where they removed the cancerous lymph nodes during her mastectomy.

That's good news. Now you can begin to get back to some sort of normality.
You can begin to enjoy your troublesome kittens. Nothing like cats to take over your life and make it all about them. 🤭

What wonderful news!. Having had that experience as a fulltime caregiver, your feelings resonate loudly for me.
Congratulations, hoping for smooth sailing for both of you!

Re: here we go again.....
Thanks. We're actually sleeping at night now. Kinda.
The kittens are currently both on the pack of my wife's desk chair licking her head. They seem to like her short hair. Which is coming back nicely after Chemo. It's prolly and inch and a half long already.

My experience of cats is that they seem to hone in on illness. Maybe they're helping somehow.

I have read that cat's purring can be healing. I do know it's calming.
