It's real it's finally real!!

My court date was this morning for my name change and I am officially Rebecca Marie it's real I'm actually finally Rebecca I've been through a mix of crying and extreme joy all day I just can't believe this is finally real that it's actually happened I never thought I'd get this far I've wanted this so long I had to share it here I'm telling absolutely everyone I can

My original thought, way back, was "how could changing my name really matter?"

The day my paperwork arrived, I was like you though, I spent the day crying with joy

guys have an update I just cannot cannot believe this happened I literally had to question if I was even awake when this happened 

So yesterday the court approved my name change and I thought this was just so amazing but I went today to update my name with Social security and my DMV and I was so shocked Social security put female on my social the court didn't approve my gender marker change but when I was there at the Social security office he printed out the information and was trying to get me to verify it and I saw an F on the paper my eyes widened I swear to God I probably just thought I was dead or something he literally changed it without any proof!!! I couldn't believe it and just because they did it at the Social security office I mentioned it when I was at the DMV and the DMV did too I'm I'm LEGALLY FEMALE OMG I'm not kidding it's all official now I can't seriously even saying that again is making me tear up I can't believe this happened I've been crying on and off all day legally female and my true name in 2 days what is happening I can't believe this  

I have not been this happy in my life

Holding my paper temp license seeing it say Rebecca Marie M. and F I just couldn't stop looking at it and tearing up I can't believe it what do I do if I wake up tomorrow and this was just a dream I don't think I could take it this has been the greatest single day of my life

There's simply no way to convey the feeling to cisgender people

Late to this but that's wonderful. I can only imagine how great it must feel.

How much I'd love to see my identity changing to my female reality. However here in Ireland neither the driving licence or social security card, which hardly anyone holds is interested in your gender identity. Passport yes but I suspect even the passport office cares less.

So I'm free to hang out in women's bathrooms and enter the Olympics as a woman. Lucky me.
